Skin Prep for Treatments
Appropriate skin preparation before and after clinical treatments is essential to achieve the best possible results and ensure your skin is treated safely and effectively. Pre-treatment skincare allows active ingredients used during clinical procedures to interact more efficiently with the skin, creating a smoother, more receptive surface. By incorporating specific ingredients like retinol, Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), and tyrosinase inhibitors in the weeks leading up to your treatment, you help condition the skin for optimal absorption and responsiveness during the procedure. Most importantly, exposing your skin to these cosmeceutical ingredients at home before your clinic visit helps keep your skin safe when higher concentrations are used during your treatment. The prior exposure at home builds skin tolerance to the clinical doses used in your treatment.
Aesthetics Rx® Pre & Post Skin Procedure System
The Aesthetics Rx® Pre & Post Procedure Skin System is designed to prepare your skin for clinical treatments, helping you achieve the best results while reducing the risk of adverse reactions. This comprehensive kit contains four key products that work synergistically to refine, exfoliate, and nourish the skin before treatment, making it suitable for virtually all skin types. This system should be started at least 14 days before your treatment and paused 3-7 days before and after the procedure until your skin has calmed and the barrier is restored.
Kit Includes:
• Refining Mousse Cleanser (200ml): Cleanses and refines the skin, removing impurities and preparing it for treatment.
• Bio-Fermented Triple Action Scrub (125ml): Gently exfoliates, helping to improve skin texture.
• Vitamin A Serum (30ml): Encourages cellular turnover, helping the skin renew itself more efficiently.
• Ultimate Serum (30ml): Helps prevent hyperpigmentation and dark sports.
The Importance of Sunscreen Before and After Treatments
Sunscreen is a crucial step in any pre- and post-treatment skincare routine. After clinical procedures, the skin is often more sensitive to UV rays, making it vulnerable to damage. Applying an SPF50 sunscreen helps protect your skin from harmful sun exposure, preventing pigmentation, irritation, and prolonged healing times.
For complete protection, including an SPF50 sunscreen in your pre and post-treatment regimen is essential. Browse our sunscreen collection for products designed to keep your skin shielded and healthy during treatment.
Gentle Skincare
There are many benefits to using gentle skincare products, especially if you have sensitive skin.
It is our responsibility as a brand to ensure our products are safe for you when used as directed. We are obliged to list all our ingredients, the correct directions for use, and any warning statements that could be required. We ensure that ingredients used in our products are within the regulatory limits, which means our products are safe.
We recommend always checking our ingredient lists if you have known allergies, to make sure the allergen specific to you is not present in the product you have selected. There is so much misinformation around on the internet; it is important to realise that even products that classify themselves as natural, or organic can still cause allergic responses in people with allergies to those particular raw ingredients. Serious reactions to skincare is rare fortunately, but mild allergies and irritations can be quite common.
The Aesthetics Rx® serums are 100% artificial fragrance free; this can be helpful for customers that have known allergies to fragrance. We use low-dose essential oils in some of our products, a percentage small enough to gently scent the product. If you happen to have a known allergy please feel free to contact us to discuss which products from our range might be best for you to use.
