Dry Skin

Skin Concern: Dry Skin

Dry is a skin condition characterised by a lack of oil in the skin. Because skin relies on oil to hold moisture in, without it, skin often feels rough, can look flaky, and wrinkles are more pronounced. Dry skin can also lead to a damaged skin barrier function, increasing long-term sensitivity and inflammation and causing a chain of biochemical reactions like collagen breakdown. If your face feels tight after washing, you’re most likely dealing with dry skin.

How to Care for Dry Skin:

There are many factors as to why you may have dry skin. The change in temperatures, exposure to the sun, the type of cleanser you are using, certain medications and hot water just to name a few. All these factors are upsetting the moisture levels of our skin, and over time, our protective layer of skin becomes thinner and unable to hold its moisture and elasticity. To treat dry skin, you need to restore the lipid balance and avoid these factors.

Your Regular Skincare Regime

 Step 1. Revitalising Foaming Cleanser

A gentle cleanse with a Sodium Lauryl/Laureth (SLS) free cleanser is essential for the health of your dry skin and is recommended twice daily, once in the morning and then a double-cleanse in the evening. Our Revitalising Foaming Cleanser is formulated without the harmful chemicals like SLS. This chemical is found in many personal care products and is an additive that allows cleansing products to foam. SLS is a known skin and eye irritant and has been linked to many other health concerns. If you are using a cleanser with SLS, this will most likely be adding to your dry skin concerns. Always ensure you give your face a deep clean to ensure your following serums can be absorbed your skin for maximum impact.

Step 2. Vitamin B Serum

With a double dose of the most sought-after ingredient for hydration, Vitamin B, our B Serum provides maximum skin hydration. Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) revives skin moisture by stimulating new fibroblasts and collagen secretion to reduce fine lines and wrinkles for a smoother appearance. Vitamin B5 (Panthenol) and Hyaluronic Acid work to restore the moisture in your skin, along with Sodium PCA, a strong hydrating agent responsible for binding moisture to the cells. Treating your skin with this powerful serum will help to restore moisture balance and support the function of the protective layer of skin to prevent it from becoming thin and therefore dry, irritated and prematurely aged.

Step 3. Anti-Ageing Regeneration Formula

Using our Anti-Ageing Regeneration Formula after your serum will not only seal in the hydrating benefits of Hyaluronic Acid, but also protect your skin against the drying effects of environmental stressors. Rich in skin identical Ceramides, the lipids that naturally occur in the skin, this moisturiser helps strengthen the skins protective barrier and restores a feeling of comfort.

Step 4. Sunscreen with Zinc SPF30

During the day you’ll need to protect from UV rays. Sunscreen with Zinc SPF30 is a light textured, but hard-working physical sunscreen, without the greasy, white cast of most Zinc based products. It provides a great base for makeup and keeps your skin safe from the premature aging effects of the sun.
