WITH PUMPKIN & PAPAYA ENZYMES
Enzyme Peel
Designed for use with complementary dermal therapies including Microdermabrasion; Epi-Dermal levelling & selected facial Laser treatments to deliver a complete radiance boost This combination of proteolytic enzymes and low percentage fruit acids in a pH 3.8 solution, allows safe use with other dermal therapies.
Skin type/concern: All skin types
Result: Clarity; Radiance & Softness level I
ENZYME PEEL WITH NIACINAMIDE
Exfoliating Peel
This is the next level up enzyme peel with a combination of proteolytic enzymes and AHA’sin higher concentration to the Enzyme peel. It works to dissolve protein bonds between keratinocytes and cell accumulation for a gentle yet effective stand-alone chemical exfoliation
Skin type/concern: All skin types
Result: Clarity; Radiance & Softness level II
AHA-KOJIC ACID PEEL WITH NIACINAMIDE
Pigment Peel
For all skin types with hyperpigmentation associated with melasma, PIHP, and/or UV damage. This combination of exfoliating AHA’s is supported by Kojic acid. Kojic acid is a chemical produced by different species of mushrooms and is effective in inhibiting Tyrosinase, an enzyme that’s needed to produce melanin. Niacinamide in high percentage in this peel also reduces hyperpigmentation by working to prevent melanosome transfer from melanocytes to keratinocytes.
Skin type/concern: Hyperpigmentation problems, uneven skin tone, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation
Result: Brightening; Progressively evens out skin tone
SALICYLIC & LACTIC ACID PEEL WITH NIACINAMIDE
Acne Peel
This combination of Salicylic (BHA), Lactic and Fruit acids (AHA’s) is a superficial peel for acne grades 1 – 3. BHA’s have effective keratolytic and comedolytic properties with a smaller molecular size, enabling absorption into the hair follicle where its lipophilic action dissolves excess oil, and its keratolytic action helps unblock the follicle preventing bacteria overgrowth and subsequent eruption. AHA’s work on the surface to exfoliate the upper layers of the Stratum corneum.
Skin type/concern: Problem skin including breakouts, congestion and acne grades 1-3
Result: Decongesting & Clearing
WITH VITAMIN A
Anti-Ageing Peel
This peel is designed to activate cell turnover and exfoliate the skins surface to reveal a brighter, more hydrated, youthful complexion with reduced congestion and hyperpigmentation. Rich in Vitamin and utilising high concentration Lactic acid and Fruit acids it suits skin exhibiting cumulative and detrimental effects photo ageing and accelerated skin ageing including lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores and a dull complexion. Also suitable for congestion.
Skin type/concern: Sun damage; fine lines and wrinkles; dull skin and age spots
Result: Smooths, rehydrates and improves the appearance of premature skin ageing
LAYERING AHA-AMINO ACID PEEL WITH NIACINAMID
Intense Resurfacing Peel
This peel has been designed for customisation, where acne scarring, pigmentation and other signs of accelerated skin ageing may be present. Intense Resurfacing Peel will immediately cause mild erythema, but with the addition of Niacinamide to this formulation, the erythema will subside and another layer may be applied after 5 minutes observation.
Skin type/concern: All skin types, where a customised peel solution is desirable
Result: Clearing, decongesting and skin radiance
HYALURONIC ACID
Microneedling
Our most popular treatment. Suitable for all skin types, especially indicated for accelerated skin ageing, hyperpigmentation and scarring Hyaluronic acid (HA), is a major glycosaminoglycan of the skins extracellular matrix. It has cell signalling functions dependent on its molecular weight.
Skin type/concern: Hyperpigmentation, scarring, premature skin ageing
Result: Hydrating, anti-inflammatory, skin densifying
WITH COPPER PEPTIDES, WILLOW BARK, HYALURONIC ACID
Advanced Age Defence 4D Mask
This mask calms and reduces redness thanks to a trio of anti-inflammatory actives: Copper peptides, Willow bark and Hyaluronic acid. In addition to their soothing action on freshly treated skin (Microdermabrasion, Dermaplane, and Microneedling in particular) there are some other benefits that may be concentrated because of the pathway for improved absorption following these treatments. Copper peptides stimulate the production of Collagen, Elastin, and Hyaluronic acid; Willow Bark is gently refining and a potent antioxidant; and Hyaluronic acid maintains moisture levels.
Skin type/concern: All skin types
Result: Deeply rehydrating, anti inflammatory, calming and soothing

About Professional Peels
Professional peel treatments involve the use of chemical peel solutions that are applied to the face and/or neck, decolletage, hands to improve the appearance of the skin. Conditions that can be treated include:
- Accelerated skin ageing
- Hyper pigmentation
- Acne and acne scarring
- Sun damage
- Scars
- Melasma
Chemical peels are defined as light, medium or deep resurfacing procedures according to the depth of the controlled and predictable wound/ablation they cause in uniform thickness to the skin. The goal is skin rejuvenation with minimal side affects which can include post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring. Light peels wound only the epidermis, the most superficial skin layer. Medium peels may reach the top layer of the dermis, the second layer of the skin. Deep peels usually reach the deeper layers of the dermis. The deeper the peel the great the risk of complications and recovery time.
Solutions used in Peels
Light Peels
Light Peels work only on the epidermis removing the Stratum corneum: Enzymes, Alpha hydroxy (AHA) or beta hydroxy acid (BHA) solution such as glycolic, lactic, salicylic, or fruit acids, Kojic acid, Retinoic acid. Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) – TCA in concentrations lower than 25%.
Medium Peels
Medium peels work on the entire epidermis and to the papillary layer of thedermis: TCA in 30 – 40% concentration. Jessner’s Solution (combina tion of salicylic acid, resorcinol and lactic acid). Glycolic Acid – 70% glycolic acid is used with 35% TCA in a medium depth peel to increase absorption of TCA.
Deep Peels
Deep peels work in the dermis to the reticular layer: Phenol; TCA
How Professional Peels Work
The chemicals used in professional peels are kerato-coagulants; they cause the proteins and protein bonds in the skin to congeal and thicken together, then liquify and break down. Exfoliation occurs and the treatment causes an inflammatory response, the skins healing signal cascade, leading to the production of new collagen and elastin in the dermis and regenerative effect including new keratinocytes. The dermis and the epidermis thicken post peel; this increased volume gives skin bounce and the exfoliation results in brighter, less pigmented skin leading to a more youthful appearance.
More on Aesthetics Rx® Peels
Which peel depth do we work with?
At Aesthetics Rx® we work with light peels. Light peels are suitable for use by trained beauty therapists and are relatively safe with few complications because they cause either no frosting or up to level I frosting (erythema and blotchy frosting) at the most. They are suitable for clients who want the benefits of a facial peel, but don’t want to experience the downtime associated with medium and deep peels.
For something a little stronger
Our strongest peel is designed to be customised by applying multiple passes (up to 5 layers) in 5-minute intervals following close observation of the frosting response. This drives the peel a little deeper into the outer epidermis and causes more exfoliation but is only ever used for skin that can tolerate it. This is our multi-layer Intense Resurfacing peel.
What to expect
Light peels remove the Stratum corneum causing erythema and a tingling to burning sensation in varying degrees. Extreme redness and burning is rare but can happen from time to time. Some skins will peel following a light peel, but not all skins will peel. Peeling may occur from day 3-7 post procedure.
Safety
For safety and comfort, we have produced the Chemical Peel Neutraliser which is suitable for use with all of the Aesthetics Rx® peels. It will instantly convert the chemicals and skins pH to a neutral state to stop the acidic action on the skin. We also recommend the use of our Peel Prep Solution to degrease and start the pH adjustment of the skin prior to treatment to safely and conveniently enhance results.
