Description

The Aesthetics Rx® Derma Roller is a safe and effective way to improve your home care regime results with its advanced exfoliating action.

Aesthetics Rx® Derma Roller Benefits:

  • Safe and effective way to improve product absorption
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines, uneven skin tone and acne scars
  • Creates micro-channels in the skin for improved product absorption
  • Suitable for all skin types

How to

Step 1 - Disinfect your Derma Roller
Spray or soak your Derma Roller with an alcohol based sanitiser such as Isopropyl and allow it to air dry on a clean paper towel ready for use.

Step 2 - Wash your face

Thoroughly cleanse the skin with a gentle pH-balanced cleanser, like our Aesthetics Rx Revitalising Foaming Cleanser, and pat dry
For sensitive skin apply your Aesthetics Rx serum prior to rolling or for a more active delivery, apply your serum after rolling

Step 3 - Begin derma rolling

The technique is very important, so listen closely! Splitting up your face into sections makes the whole process easier. Here's a visual of what that looks like:

Gently roll in one direction 6 to 8 times, depending on your skin tolerance and sensitivity, and make sure to lift the roller after each pass. So, roll in one direction. Lift up. Repeat. Always roll very gently around the eye contour and upper lip areas.

Step 4 - Continue your basic skin care routine.

Follow up derma rolling with a basic skin care routine. That means no chemical exfoliates or active ingredients like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, tretinoin, etc. Look for serums or products with:

Vitamin C
Niacinamide
Epidermal growth factors
Hyaluronic Acid (HA)

We recommend the use of any Aesthetics Rx Serum.

Step 5 - Disinfect derma roller
Rinse your derma roller under warm water, shake dry and allow to air dry before replacing it into the storage container.

Home rolling can be performed up to 3 times a week, spaced out evenly over the week, and depending on your skin concern and condition. It is recommended to gradually build up to this frequency.

Derma Roller Skincare Benefits:

The skincare benefits of frequent derma rolling are many and varied, with some more well-known than others. The most commonly reported benefits of using a derma roller are:

  • Enhanced exfoliation The Aesthetics Rx® derma roller’s 540 needles create superficial micro-channels in the skin. This process of epidermal injury is a form of controlled exfoliation, promoting the turnover of skin cells and revealing brighter, smoother skin.
  • Improved product absorption Consistent derma rolling allows serums and creams to sink deeper into the surface of the skin for enhanced results as the micro-channels created by the micro needle derma roller act as a delivery system.
  • Reduce hyperpigmentation
Derma rolling can help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation by promoting the turnover of skin cells through its exfoliating action.
  • Visibly reduce acne scars
  • Acne scars are often more challenging to address than hyperpigmentation, so multiple and continual sessions may be required to see visible results. However, derma rolling, through its exfoliating action, can help smooth out the appearance of acne scars over time.
  • Help combat acne
By improving product absorption and promoting the turnover of skin cells, derma rolling can help keep pores clear, preventing them from becoming clogged and increasing the risk of acne breakouts (Note that derma rolling is not recommended where there is active acne, because of the cross-contamination risk).
  • Safe for all skin types
Unlike other forms of exfoliation, such as harsh scrubs or chemicals, derma rolling is gentle and suitable for all skin types. Avoid using on active acne and conditions including eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.
  • Increase the effectiveness of serums and creams
As well as improving product absorption, derma rolling can also help increase the effectiveness of serums and creams by up to 1,000 times. Using a microneedle derma roller, active ingredients can be absorbed deeper into the surface of the skin where they can be most effective.
  • Boosted cell turnover
Our cell turnover slows down as we age, leading to duller, drier skin. Derma rolling can help to boost cell turnover, resulting in brighter, smoother skin

My favourite skin care tool to use at home

This is my favourite skin care tool to use at home in between my professional needling treatments. Surprisingly easy to use and quick and effectively allows my product to penetrate deeper. I have noticed a big difference in my over all skin tone especially on my chest area from years of sun exposure.

Introducing

BIOTECHNOLOGY

As consumers demand safer, more natural ingredients, Aesthetics Rx® use many biotechnology ingredients to create ‘clean’ products that are effective and environmentally friendly.

Biotechnology is the use of living organisms or their products to modify or make products for human use. In skin care, this can include using enzymes to break down dead skin cells, and plant stem cells to create a variety of product types.

Biotech ingredients are made in a lab by scientists using living, naturally derived substances to recreate or produce ingredients similar raw extracts. This way, the land, water and resources typically required in farming are significantly reduced to almost zero.
